Application
- Compressors and Blowers
Introduction
Blowers system generally emitted noise in 3 ways :-
•
Motor noise
• Intake systems
• Discharge system

Noise
is more pronounced on the discharge side of the blower. Peak pulse
pressures are quite severe and can result in unsilenced discharge
sound power levels up to 140-145 dB. The inlet produces less severe
pulsation noise but often needs attenuation comparable to that at
the discharge
| While
the noise of the Intake and Discharge system can treated by
using our exhaust silencers, however most of the time, this
method alone could not meet the Department of Environment (DOE)
requirement. |
 |
| The
best design of Acoustic treatment for Blower is to contain the
whole system in the Acoustic Enclosure or house it in the brickwall.
ISTIQ Duct Silencers, then should be used as the Inlet and Outlet
for ventilation function. The noise level of this method will
reduce down to 75 to 80 dB(A) measured at 1 meter away from
the Blower house. Nevertheless, the noise can be designed to
achieve better if the requirement call for it. |

In
order to prevent the noise transmitted through the doorway,
ISTIQ Acoustic Door is recommended to be incorporated in the
acoustic system.
ISTIQ
Acoustic Doors used are all steel doors utilising the absorptive
edge principle. They are used to contain the noise within
noisy areas or to prevent noise transmission to sensitive
areas.

Similarly,
the concept above is applicable for compressor system.
