TRISTAR NF is a tested lubricant offering optimum
functionality during the direct compression of "compacts"
or "granulates" of active ingredients produced
by dry and wet granulation. Acetaminophen, aspirin, ibuprofen
and vitamin C are among the many "granulates"
tested.
An
excellent organic based substitute to zinc or magnesium
stearate.
TRISTAR
NF is a newly developed lubricant that
- is
compatible with all commonly used antiadherents, binders,
disintegrants, fillers and glidants.
- is
a natural, kosher certified and GRAS food grade, vegetable
fatty acid.
- contains
no metal (magnesium, zinc and calcium) residues.
- is
lower in moisture than the alkaline stearates (0.10% vs.
3-4%).
- has
a lower ash content than the alkaline stearates (0.10%
vs. 7-8%).
- produces
harder tablets than the alkaline stearates.
- produces
smoother and shinier tablet surfaces than the alkaline
stearates.
- produces
chewable tablets at lower levels of addition than the
alkaline stearates.
- impedes
the dissolution rate of "actives" to a lesser
extent than the alkaline stearates.
- is
less sensitive to "overblending" or "overmixing"
than the alkaline stearates.
- can
be used with acidic "actives" unlike the alkaline
stearates.
- is
bland in flavor unlike the alkaline stearates.
- does
not "cake" as is common with the alkaline stearates.

If
your tablet production problems include :
- "capping"
(separation of the upper part of the tablet during ejection
and handling).
- "lamination"
(the failure of tablets along several horizontal planes)
- "picking"
(sticking of tablet material to punch faces)
- excessive
wear or corrosion of punch faces and die walls.
- excessive
ejection forces.
- poor
dissolution of "actives"

Your
solution is TRISTAR NF
TRISTAR
NF has shown great improvement over lubricants in preventing
picking, lamination or capping. It also has proven to extend
production by preventing excessive wear of machinery. It
is the only lubricant tested that has shown absolutely no
reactivity with acidic "actives" such as Asorbic
Acid or Acetylsalicylic Acid. It has no taste and improves
the smoother "mouth feel" chewable tablets of
the acidic "Actives".

- is
a specially formulated product of vegetable based, fatty
acids. It has been designed to obtain the highest degree
of binding and lubricating qualities.
- can
be applied at substantially lower rates in the tabletting
process than other products presently on the market, and
still achieve optimum tablet characteristics.
- is
produced from food-grade vegetable oil, is 100%natural,
and contains no animal fats or tallow.
- enhances
the tabletting process because of its special properties.
It has a titre point (melting temperature) of 130% Fahrenheit
(55 degree Centigrade). As the mixture is compressed during
tabletting, TRISTAR 149 liquifies for a brief moment.
As it resolidifies, it expands slightly and promptly releases
the tablet from the punch. This action also creates the
highly desirable hard, glossy finish.
- is
fully compatible with most formulations and will enhance
the firmness and marketability of the final product. It
is manufactured in a dedicated, government approved facility,
under full GMP conditions, and with the highest standards
of quality control. TRISTAR 149 meets all U.S.P, N.F.,
and F.C.C specifications. No animal testing is used in
the production of this product.
- carries
full Kosher Certification.
