were 115 entries participant
having forked out Y30,000, which
also paid for food and board
over four days in Tsumagoi Resort
in Shizuoka Prefecture. Cars
were driven there from all
over Japan
Pioneer held the first-ever
DTS 5.1 Channel Car Audio /
Video Contest, and the event
was used as testbed for similar
contests planned for the company's
markets worldwide.
There were 19 contestants for
the DTS 5.1 setup category,
13 in the Pure Digital Audio
setup category, and 83 cars
taking part in the Digital /
Analogue setup contest, making
this competition
the biggest car sound challage
in Japan for 2002
